What is an X-Ray?

X-rays is an observation tool, it helps dentist and doctor look at the condition of our bones. X-rays help present an image of your bones that buried deep in a lot of tissue and muscles without needing surgery.

Types of Dental X-rays

Dental X rays which are sometimes referred to as radiographs. 3 common forms of radiographs in our dental clinics are, OPG, PA & Bitewing. Without a doubt you have heard at least one of these terms being thrown around by your dentist.

OPG (Orthopantomogram)

Calling this is Orthopantomogram is quite a mouthful, hence we like to use the short form OPG. OPGs take a full panoramic image of your mouth.

OPG (Orthopantomogram)

OPGs have a wide variety of uses and present useful information to dentist on the condition of your oral health.

These include bone health, calculus presence, teeth integrity, presence of infections, erupting teeth and many more.

Bitewings

Bitewings focuses on capturing an image of both the upper and lower portion of your mouth. This increases the resolution so that more details can be seen.
